Context

LEMO, a world leader in the manufacture of precision connectors, has seen its production intensify since the construction of its Ecublens factory in 1987. With the addition of new machines, processing lines, and services, the factory’s electrical capacity was no longer sufficient, necessitating an update to the Low Voltage Main Distribution Board (MDB).

MDB Modernization to Increase Capacity

Ensure the electrical reliability of the factory and support LEMO’s continued growth.

Achievements

Alps Group took charge of the entire project:

  • Electrical study, dimensioning, schematic design, and coordination with Romande Energie, suppliers, and electrical contractors
  • Production of 11 Schneider Electric MDB cells, with workshop testing to ensure compliance and performance
  • Dismantling of the old MDB and installation of the new system, even during the Christmas holiday period to minimize impact on production
  • Final adjustments and verifications to ensure a smooth transition

Thanks to Alps Group’s expertise in engineering, hardware, industrial automation, and IT, the renovation was completed on time and within budget.

After a constructive initial meeting and receiving competitive technical offers, we chose to work with Alps Group. We found them to be competent, efficient, and excellent advisors. For the renovation of our MDB and the addition of supplementary boards (T28, T40, and T41), they delivered quality work, adhering to budget and deadlines, particularly through excellent planning during the Christmas holiday period. The result exceeded our expectations, and everything went smoothly. We will continue to rely on Alps Group for various projects. More than a supplier, they are a partner/advisor to us.
