Modernization of the Technical Management System
Discover how Alps Group supported the Malley Intercommunal Center in modernizing its refrigeration control system to ensure the proper functioning of its facilities.

Context
CIGM manages a complex infrastructure with three ice rinks – two indoor and one outdoor – requiring precise temperature control. The technical management system for the refrigeration facilities had been based on a Mitsubishi programmable controller installed in 1984. With the aging equipment becoming inefficient and the inability to find replacement parts, it became imperative to modernize the control system to meet new demands and ensure reliable operations.
Completely overhaul the cold control
Modernising cold control by adapting to the specific characteristics of the runways and guaranteeing continued operation during the renovation.

Achievements
Alps Group handled the electrical study and automation of the system. The scope included:
- Analysis of the existing system and definition of replacement needs
- Installation of Siemens control cabinets for control and Rockwell equipment for managing variable speed drives
- Creation of the programmable logic controller (PLC) program and configuration of the operator interface for real-time monitoring
- Replacement and commissioning of new equipment on-site
The solution implemented by Alps Group enables CIGM to ensure precise control and increased reliability of its facilities, with a modern and user-friendly interface.
