Context

B. Braun provides products for anesthesia, intensive care, cardiology, and extracorporeal blood treatment. In its production process, inkjet printing of variable data (date, time, batch number, etc.) on bags—at a speed of over 100 bags per minute—is essential. However, the obsolescence of non-standard equipment and adjustment difficulties led B. Braun to initiate a renovation project.

Achievements

The retrofit project was launched to replace the obsolete 2-head printing axis.

Alps Group conducted studies and electrical schematics, designed and manufactured custom electrical cabinets, and developed specialized software for print control.

Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) were conducted to ensure compliance before on-site commissioning.

The project was carried out with meticulous project management, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget while meeting B. Braun’s specific needs.

We were looking for an experienced supplier capable of offering a complete solution, including FDS documentation, electrical schematics, cabinet manufacturing, programming, and commissioning with local support. Word of mouth led us to discover Alps Group’s services. Among the three offers we received, theirs provided the best quality-price ratio. The proposed solution met our needs. The FAT process went smoothly, ensuring a successful commissioning and project validation. Everything was completed on schedule, and the initial budget was respected.
